SALES ADMINISTRATOR / BOOKKEEPER for small but active, rurally based company marketing animal health products to dairy farmers.

Our client is a well-established company (35 years) which develops and markets specialist products used by dairy farmers in the UK, Europe and USA. We are seeking to replace their sales administrator/bookkeeper who is retiring after 18 years with the company. Pre-requisites are good numeracy and telephone communication skills, both verbal and written, together with a friendly and helpful attitude to customers.  A knowledge of farming, particularly dairy farming would be beneficial but, not essential. Full product training will be given.

The work would entail mainly, telephone reception, receipt and processing of orders, then picking/packing and arranging despatch of goods. Experience in import/export shipments would be advantageous. The basic book-keeping includes raising sales invoices, processing purchase invoices, producing accurate sales reports and also such tasks as submitting VAT – all via the Sage One online system.

A good salary is offered, with office hours being 39 hours per week, including 30 minute lunch break , but these hours may be reduced to 32-33 hours by negotiation.
