Our client – a fast growing and expanding leader within the environmental consultancy, compliance and by-product recycling sector – is seeking to appoint an experienced, energetic and highly motivated Principal Environmental Consultant to lead and develop their rapidly expanding consultancy services, whilst providing technical leadership and support across the groups complimentary sub divisions.

Since its formation in 2006, the award winning business has enjoyed sustainable and profitable growth, adapting and enhancing its range of services to its client base that includes farmers and growers, public bodies and multinational industrial corporations.

Building on success to date, this new role – part of a wider expansion plan – will further enhance and develop the business ensuring that the company remains at the forefront of this niche industry.

Working with the team, clients and environmental regulators, your tasks and responsibilities will be wide ranging and varied and would include, but not limited to, technical, scientific based advice and consultancy,  soil fertility and crop nutrient management plans, environmental compliance and assurance, chemical assessment of waste and by product material, land restoration and end of waste/contaminated land assessments, field and glasshouse trials and experimentation alongside business development and team leadership.

The successful candidate will, as a minimum, hold a degree in agricultural, geo-environmental or soil and plant sciences, have proven commercial experience in delivering consultancy in the sector, a strong understanding of the principals of soil science and crop nutrition and working experience and knowledge of environmental permitting regulations. A FACTS qualification is highly desirable as would chartered status in a relevant or related body. Alongside these core competencies, you will have a flare for business development, strong leadership qualities – able to motivate those in your team, giving them guidance through a confident, approachable and open manner. You will be a natural communicator, being able to find the right level of delivering your message whether in the field, in the board room or to a government agency.
