Our client, a leading company within its field, is looking for a highly experienced Business Development Manager for the North of the UK.

Main Purpose of Role:

To position, launch and promote all  Product & Services to the companies Genetic Consultants (Internal) as well as UK Dairy & Beef farmers (External) in order to continuously evaluate and generate market growth opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To review, prioritise and execute market growth opportunities for all its products and services
  • To implement and deliver sales and service growth across the whole portfolio
  • To provide first class technical advice on the product and service portfolio in order to fulfil customer and sales team training requirements
  • To achieve individual sales/market growth targets
  • To manage and build sustainable Genetic Consultant relationships in order to achieve individual targets
  • To establish & maintain good customer relationships and provide excellent customer service at all times by understanding the customers business needs
  • To develop & maintain knowledge of the portfolio of products & services as holistic portfolio and formulate suitable customer value propositions
  • To develop & maintain knowledge of the industry and market trends
  • To ensure that the company policies and procedures are adhered to
  • To continuously develop and improve both themselves and the working practices
  • To comply with Company policy and best practise in security, legal and regulatory compliance
  • To ensure that all H&S responsibilities are fulfilled and that the team’s (including the role holder), visitors and contractors’ safety and welfare is maintained
  • To complete any other duties as required from time to time

To liaise with industry professionals on a regular basis on all new market developments.

Essential Skills:

  • Knowledge of Bovine Genomic Testing and the Dairy Industry preferred
  • Proven experience of working within a fast paced sales and business development environment
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to work on their own initiative
  • Motivated and driven to achieve results
  • Excellent communicator both verbally and written with a proven record of building positive relationships, both external and internal to the organisation
  • Smart and tidy appearance
  • Full clean driving license
  • Ability to travel both domestic UK and International
